What We’d Do With Just One Hour a Week to Market Your Business

When you're running a business solo, your to-do list is a mile long and marketing often gets pushed to the bottom. But here’s the truth: You don’t need to work unlimited hours to make real progress online.

If you were to give us just one hour a week, here’s exactly how we’d spend it to create consistent visibility, build connection, and move your business forward.

Week 1:

For the first 15 minutes, start by choosing 2-3 core topics that your audience cares about and that reflect your offers. Think behind the scenes, tips and education, testimonials, or client wins. These themes keep your messaging clear and focused - and make content creation way easier.

Spend the remaining 45 minutes creating 2-3 posts (graphics and captions) based on those themes. You don’t need to be everywhere - just show up well where it matters most. For many small businesses, that’s Instagram and/or email.

Week 2:

There is nothing wrong with repurposing what you already have. Got old content that still resonates? Great - let’s reuse it. In 60 minutes, pull 3 pieces of content from past posts, emails, or even text messages with clients and give them a fresh twist. New graphic, new caption, same value.

Add in a few quick Stories or a Reel filmed on your phone, and you’ve got a full week’s worth of content - with half the work.

Week 3:

This week, use your hour to connect and engage with your audience - because visibility without community doesn’t convert. Spend 30 minutes replying to DMs, comments, or starting conversations in your niche. Then spend the other 30 minutes checking in with past clients or leads. A simple “Hey, how’s everything going?” can lead to bookings.

Week 4:

Use this hour to look at what’s working. Which posts got comments or shares? Which ones felt easiest to create? Which ones led to questions or conversations?

Then adjust your themes or formats based on what actually connects. Marketing isn’t about being everywhere - it’s about showing up intentionally where your presence has impact.

The Bottom Line: One Hour is Enough (When It’s Focused)

Consistency always beats intensity in marketing. One well-planned hour a week can help you build trust, show your personality, and keep your business top-of-mind. And when you're ready to hand it off? That's where we come in.

At SKC Creative, we help overwhelmed business owners simplify their strategy and show up with confidence. Whether you’re looking for a custom content plan or a full-on marketing partner, we’re here to make it easier.

Let’s talk about how to make your one hour a week count.
